Uniform
Cambell is a UNIFORM school. We believe a uniform looks smart, wears well and contributes to a feeling of pride in our school. Our school colours are green and gold (bottle green and yellow). ALL pupils are expected to wear a uniform
The uniform consists of:
- Yellow polo shirt
- White shirt or blouse
- Green sweatshirt, pullover or cardigan
- Grey or dark trousers, shorts or skirt
- Striped or check cotton dresses or skirts for Summer
(green/white)
For some classroom activities, e.g. art or technology, it is helpful if children can be provided with an old shirt to protect their clothing.
PE and Games
We expect pupils to change into suitable clothing for PE and Games lessons, and we make them aware of the safety and hygiene implications. All classes have a weekly swimming lesson in the school pool, and for this they should be provided with a towel, swimming costume and a red swimming hat which may be purchased in school for 75p.
Uniform Ordering
While many parents or carers will prefer to shop locally, and will be able to do so more cheaply, the following items will be on sale from the school:
- Green sweatshirt with school name and badge:
Up to size 34 = £7.50
Size 36 or 38 = £9.50
- Yellow polo shirt with school name and badge:
Up to size 32 = £5.50
Size34, 36 or 38 = £6.50
Orders will be placed at regular intervals during the year, and we will keep you informed of the arrangements. Some secondhand uniform is available from the school, please ask if you would like to see it.
Jewellery
Pupils are discouraged from wearing jewellery as responsibility cannot be accepted for items which are lost or damaged.
LOOPED or DANGLING ear rings are NOT to be worn under any circumstances - because of risk of INJURY - children will be asked to remove any unsuitable jewellery and it will be THEIR responsibility to keep it safe.
Mobile Phones and Other Electrical Items
We discourage children from bringing in mobile phones. If, due to an emergency, they have to bring one into school, it MUST be left in the school office. No IPODs, DVD players, etc. please.
Lost Property
It would help if all children's clothing were clearly labelled. Lost items can be collected by the children from lost proerty (in the school Hall). All items will be kept for 1 year. Anything remaining unclaimed will be donated to charity after this period. Every effort will be made to return the lost property to its rightful owner.
