Admissions Policy
The Governors of the school have adopted the LEA Admissions Policy; an extract of which is provided below.
The criteria for admissions, in strict order of priority, are as follows:
1. Children for whom a particular school is considered by the Education Authority to be appropriate, subject to parental agreement, following a statement of special educational needs, under the auspices of the Education Act 1981.
2. Children who have a brother or sister attending the school or linked Junior school, on the same site, at the date of admission.
3. Children attending a nearby Infants', Junior or Primary school included in an approved linking arrrangement.
4. Children who live closest to a particular school measured by the nearest available walking route.
Note I: The place may be withdrawn if parents move further from the school prior to the date of admission in September.
Note II: Having a sibling in nursery class does not give priority for admission to school.
Note III: If it is proved a place has been allocated on the basis of false information the place will be withdrawn.
The Appeals Procedure
If your child is not offered a place at your preferred school, you have the right to appeal against this decision even though all places have been allocated. An information sheet will be given explaining how the appeal procedure works, as well as an appeal form.
Waiting Lists
A waiting list is retained for each over-subscribed school. You will be asked if you want your child's name to be kept on the waiting list for the school. The waiting list is held in the order of criteria priority.
